The concept of our track days

Take your sports car for a spin on one of Portugal’s most famous circuits, the 4.684 km Autódromo do Algarve! Enjoy a unique experience during a track day organised on this exceptional Formula 1 circuit. Discover the Portimão International Circuit at the wheel of your own sports car during a premium track day.

Enjoy a limited number of vehicles, open pit lane driving (no series) and a gentlemanly and safe code of conduct for your track day at Portimão. Develop and perfect your driving skills on this legendary circuit located in Portimão, in southern Portugal. You are free to drive whenever you want, with the guarantee of optimal driving conditions.

As organisers of track days and professional circuit events for several years, we organise around fifty track days each year at the finest circuits in France, Spain and Italy: Monza, Barcelona, MotorLand Aragón, Magny-Cours, Le Mans, Le Castellet, Dijon-Prenois, Nogaro, Val de Vienne, Le Mas du Clos, Charade, etc. See our track day calendar.

Safety and quality driving are our priorities:

  • We pay particular attention to compliance with instructions. Drivers responsible for dangerous behaviour will be warned and may be excluded from driving if necessary.
  • We limit the number of vehicles on the circuit to offer you excellent driving conditions.
  • We limit the number of vehicles registered to maximise your driving time in Open Pitlane (without driving sessions).
  • We are delighted to welcome racing teams and motor clubs who will respectfully integrate into our days alongside our regular drivers.

The famous Portimão circuit (Autódromo Internacional do Algarve)!

Opened in October 2008, the Portimão circuit is a modern motorsport complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. From the outset, the aim was to host the biggest motor racing events. Today, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve circuit is recognised worldwide for its undulating terrain and unique characteristics: 32 possible configurations, a 4.684 km track, significant gradients (up to 12 per cent), an almost constant camber (up to 8 per cent) and 16 corners.

Highly regarded by drivers for its technical demands and variety, the Portimão circuit – often described as a ‘rollercoaster’ – also features a magnificent 969-metre-long straight. As such, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve has established itself as one of the most comprehensive circuits, allowing drivers to hone their skills in every possible scenario.

Since it opened, the Portimão circuit has hosted numerous prestigious motor racing and motorcycling events, such as the MotoGP, the European Le Mans Series and the World Superbike Championship. In 2020, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will host its first Portuguese Formula 1 Grand Prix. With a capacity of up to 73,000 spectators, the Portimão circuit has become one of the venues for the most spectacular motorsport competitions.

The lap record for this circuit is held by Sébastien Buemi (F1) with a time of 1 minute 27.987 seconds, set on 21 January 2009.
